Apart from Dhawan, the Former Indian batter VVS Laxman can also join the Indian team as a head coach for the tournament. Asian Games don’t come under ICC and will not be recognised in International cricket.
The Women’s team meanwhile will be at full strength with no commitments. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side travel to Bangladesh in July, following which their calendar opens up. The Asian Games is likely to be the first assignment for the incoming head coach.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Schedule Announced: The International Cricket Council announced the Women’s T20 World Cup schedule on Sunday, May 5. The tournament will be held in Bangladesh from October 3 to October 20. Ten teams will play in a total of 23 matches in this ninth edition of the tournament.

The esteemed competition will take held in the dynamic cities of Sylhet and Dhaka over a period of eighteen days. Two groups of five teams each have been carefully formed from the ten participating teams. The current ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, will determine the qualifiers, Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2. Teams will be split into two groups of five and play each other once in the final match, which is set for May 7.
