Lowest total in men’s ODI tournament final

50 – IND vs SL, 2023, Colombo
54 – IND v SL, 2000, Sharjah
78 – SL v PAK, 2002, Sharjah
81 – Oman v NAM, 2019

This score also set a new record for men’s Asia Cup ODIs, surpassing Bangladesh’s previous mark of 87 all out from 2000. However, Sri Lanka also established other records. The host team set many unwanted records with their awful batting work.

Sri Lanka head coach Chris Silverwood called Sri Lanka’s batting performance “a disappointment” and said the batters didn’t play good shots in the challenging conditions.

“The way we got dismissed is very disappointing, think there’s a lot of reflection to be done in the dressing. I think today we’ve come up against a very high class bowling attack, thought Siraj was superb. At the same time I think we made our own life difficult as well”, Silverwood said after the game.
