Shahshi Tharoor Questions Sanju Samson after Suryakumar Yadav's Flop Show

Shahshi Tharoor Questions Sanju Samson after Suryakumar Yadav’s Flop Show: Shahshi Tharoor is a prominent potician hailing from Kerala, has recently spoken out in supprt of Sanju Samson.

Shahshi Tharoor is questioning after Suryakumar Yadav’s three consecutive golden ducks during the recently concluded ODI sereis against Australia.

“Now that poor @surya_14kumar has set an unenviable world record w/his three golden ducks in a row, is it unreasonable to ask why @IamSanjuSamson , averaging 66 in ODIs despite batting at an unfamiliar position for him at 6, wasn’t in the squad? What does he need to do?,” Tharoor tweeted.

Sanju Samson last played for Team India during the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in January at home.

Unfortunately, he was forced to sit out the last two T20Is due to a left knee injury sustained while attempting to field a ball near the boundary ropes during the first T20I in Mumbai.

Despite this setback, Samson has represented Team India in 11 ODIs, scoring an impressive 330 runs at an average of 66. His talent and skill on the field are undeniable, and he is a valuable asset to the team.

In comparison, Yadav has scored 433 runs in 23 ODIs at an average of 24.06. However, in 2023, he has only managed to score 49 runs in seven ODIs at an average of 8.17. While Yadav has shown potential in the past, his recent performance has been lackluster.

IPL 2024: How can MS Dhoni Play in T20 World Cup 2024

How can MS Dhoni Play in T20 World Cup 2024: Since the competition’s first T20 World Cup, which was held in 2007 and was captained by MS Dhoni, the Indian cricket team has not triumphed.

Throughout the current IPL, Dhoni has been playing in incredible form. He hit more home runs with a greater strikeout percentage.

Dhoni demonstrated his class in the most recent encounter against LSG, helping CSK record 176 for 6 in 20 overs by going undefeated on 28 deliveries from 9 deliveries.

The captain for the 2022 T20 World Cup will be Rohit Sharma. Both in the league and Super Six stages, they performed admirably.

In the semi-finals at Adelaide Oval, they were severely outclassed by England and lost by a margin of 10 wickets.

On June 2, 2024, the USA and the West Indies will host the ICC T20 World Cup. Given that they are paired with Pakistan, Ireland, the United States of America, and Canada in the group stage, the Indian team is probably going to advance. Each group’s top two players will advance to the Super Eight stage.

The competitors in the Indian Premier League 2024 have put up some beautiful displays. Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma will undoubtedly be included in the team for the major tournament. Other positions, like wicket-keeping, are competitive.

Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Dinesh Karthik, and Rishabh Pant are contenders for the position.

MS Dhoni has played exceptionally well thus far, amassing 87 runs at a strike rate of 255 and making life difficult for the bowlers in the last overs.

With 42 years of age and physical issues, there is almost little possibility of making the Indian T20 World Cup. He has played only IPL seasons with less training and no competition between seasons.

MS Dhoni played a total of 98 T20I matches for Team India (85 innings) with 2 half-centuries to his name with best score of 56. Under his captaincy, CSK won a total of 5 IPL titles. He also led Pune Rising Super Giants to the finals.

Meanwhile, in an interaction on Cricbuzz, former India opener Virendra Sehwag made a case for MS Dhoni to play for India in the T20 World Cup 2024 as well.

He said, “MS Dhoni has a strike of 255 and doesn’t have an average because he hasn’t been dismissed yet. He has hit 87 runs in 34 balls this season. The kind of schedule we have for the T20 World Cup, how many good teams will we be playing against? He won’t get to bat in the first round.”

“He will only have to keep, which he is already doing (for CSK). (Dhoni’s) batting will come only against 3 teams: Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Even if you consider Pakistan, he will have to bat against 4 teams and only in the last 3 overs. Who is better than him then?” the former Indian bater added.

Given that the Indian squad has both young and seasoned players who can handle pressure, MS Dhoni may end up serving as their mentor. Having won three ICC titles, his invaluable advice may lead the team.

Thus far in this year’s IPL, he has demonstrated exceptional finishing skills. It is doubtful that MS Dhoni would rejoin the team, but India needs a finisher.

Whether the top player decides to put on the blue jersey once more or if the fans are content with his IPL performances will be intriguing to see.

IPL 2024: Sachin Tendulkar Amazed by SRH's Outstanding Shows Against DC

Sachin Tendulkar Amazed by SRH’s Outstanding Shows Against DC: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024’s most vicious teams are the Surisers Hyderabad (SRH). Every time the Orange Army plays a group stage game, they break records, led by the recently appointed Pat Cummins.

Their most recent victory was on Saturday night when they defeated Delhi Capital by an enormous margin of 67 runs in their own turf. This was their third 250-plus total in the current competition.

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, the openers, mounted an attack on the DC bowlers, amassing 131 runs for the first wicket in the Powerplay alone. With six sixes and eleven boundaries in a 32-ball performance of 89, the Australian batsman top-scored.

All-rounder Shabaz Nadeem made a half-century down the order to help the SRH record 266/7 in 20 overs.

DC responded by attempting to match SRH’s ferocity with a few early pyrotechnics. Abhishek Porel added a 22-ball 42 to help his team gain a fast start in the massive chase, which was spearheaded by Jake Fraser-McGurk’s 15-ball half-century.

With five balls remaining, the hosts were dismissed for 199 after running out of steam due to their dismissals.

Sunrisers’ exploits continue to surprise the experts of the game. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar heaped huge praise on the Cummins & Co. for their all-round show in Delhi on Saturday.

“What is it with @SunRisers that they’ve gotten past 260 thrice in this season alone! Today was a game where they completely outclassed @DelhiCapitals. They, of course, batted well thanks to a mind-boggling start by @travishead34 & @IamAbhiSharma4 and a wonderful finish by Shahbaz. And in the 2nd half of the game, they bowled much better than DC, with their variations proving to be very effective. Well played, SRH,” Tendulkar wrote on X.

Captain of DC Rishabh Pant said his team was practically playing catch up the entire time after Sunrisers Hyderabad produced a massive “power play” by hammering 125 runs to set a new IPL record.

“I think power play was the difference. We were just catching up throughout the match. That was the massive difference. Hopefully, we will come back with more thought process and clear mindset,” said Pant.

“The only thought process behind that (deciding to bowl first) was we thought there would be some dew but it didn’t come. I thought if we could restrict them to 220-230, we would be in with a chance,” he added.
