at least four people died and 16 other injured in a fire that broke out 12th floor of 19th storey posh residential building in Dadar area Wednesday morning.

Many residents who were trapped in the top floor of Crystal Tower in the busy Parel area were evacuated using a crane.

A total of 20 people were rushed to KEM hospital in Parel of which four were declared brought dead.

Fire erupted on the 12th floor of 17 storeyad Crystal Tower building located in Parel, the fire quickly spread to the other upper floors equipment flats.

the fire started from the twelfth floor of the building was declared level II at around 8.45 am by the first response team of Mumbai fire bridge. however , the smoke from the raging fire started spreading rapidly and residents were trapped on the building’s staurcases.

The fire, which broke out on the 12th floor of the building, spread across the 13th , 14th and 15th floor of the Crystal Towers, where the majority of people were standard and got suffocated.

according to the Rahangdale , it is likely that more people are trapped inside the building, the Mumbai Fire brigade’s search operation is on.

total 20 victims were brought to KEM Hospital, of which four were brought bead- one senior citizen female and 3 male. only two bodies have been identified. they are in stable condition, Dr Avinash N Supe, KEM hospital said.

Fire fighting operations are over, cooling ops is on. A complaint ill be lodges on charges of criminal offense against the responsible society official. the building has been declared unsafe, and power and water supply have been stopped for now, said the official.

He added, Area around the lift of the 12th floor was the worst affected, fire in the electrical wiring kept in duct area had caused smoke and heat on the entire floor, because of which people on upper floors were trapped.
