Actor Sujata Kumar , who played role in English Vinglish, she died after battling stage four cancer. Suchitra Krishnamoorthi was confirmed Sujata Kumar’s death on Twitter.
Suchitra wrote in Twitter, “Our beloved Sujata Kumar has passed away and moved on to a better place leaving us with an unimaginable void. She left us an hour ago at 11.26 PM on the 19th of August 2018.. Life can never be the same again..”
She added another tweet, informed that the mortal remains would be cremated at the juhu crematorium in Vile Parle on August 20, She deleted Later.
Suchitra shared post on Saturday, “It feels like somebody’s plunged a hard cold knife into my heart & ripped the ground from my feet as I sit outside ICU & Pray for my big sis my mother my best friend my darling Sujata Kumar as she battle for her life inside PLs join me & my family is r prayers for her”
Family source told PTI, she was suffering from fourth stage metastatic cancer and was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai.
Insider Said, “Her condition worsened day before yesterday at the hospital”. It may be recalled that Sujata Kumar is a cancer survivor, back in 2012, when she appeared in English Vinglish, she was quoted as saying how happy she was that Gauri Shinde has thought of casting her in the role.
Sujata has done few Television Serials like Hotel Kingston, and Bomaby Talking, but it was not till English Vinglish that she became a popular face. She later appeared in the Anil Kapoor’s 24 as Meghna Singhania.
She has worked with couple of films like Gori Tere Pyar mei, Raanjhanaa.
