At least 324 people have died and over 3.2 lakh are now in relief in camps in Kerala. The state is an unprecedented crisis, ravage by torrential rain.

The death toll from 10 days of floods in the state has nearly trebled in the last 24 hours. Prime Minister Nanrendara Modi had arrived in Kochi last night to undertake a survey of flood hit areas.

PM Narendra Modi was accompanied by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijaya, Governor P. Sathasivam and Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons during the aerial survey of floods affected areas.


Narendra Modi announced an interim relief aid of Rs 500 crore. Haryana CM Manohar Lal KHattar has also announced an aid of Rs 10 crores for the flood ravaged region.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami announced relief materals including rice, milk and Rs five crore more for relief operations in the flood ravaged Kerala.

As per report says, till now 42, Navy, 16 Army, 28 Coast Guard and 39 National Disaster Relief Force teams were engaged in rescue operations.

Red alert was sounded in all 14 Kerala district. All three wings of the armed forces have been pressed into action for a massive rescue operations.
