Asian Games 2018, India has managed to clinch 5 medals including 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. on day 2 Wrestler Vinesh Phogat won a gold medal for India and Men’s hockey team registered a thumping victory against Indonesia by 17-0.

Vinesh Phogat cast a fleeting but ongoing glance at the gold medal that she had dream of, worked hard for and she was now feel proud owner of.

First up, She beat the Chinese Sun Uyana 6-2, exorcising memories of the injury that she suffered in the bout with her in the Rio Olympic Games, once that was out of the way, she breezed to one sided victories over Korea’s Kim Hyung Joo and Uzbekistan’s Dauletbike Yakshimuratova in the quarterfinals and semifinals.

she then justfied her billing as India’s best bet among the woman freestyle with a 6-2 victory over Yuki Ire in the final. emerging as the nation’s first Asian Games woman’s wrestling champion.

India will be hoping more Gold medals from the star players namely Dipa Kumar, Abhishek Verma adn Ankita Bhakat.

Vinesh Phogat won a gold medal in 50 kg woman’s freestyle wrestling. Shooter Lakshya secured a silver medal while Indian men’s hockey team registered a historic victory by 17 goals against the host Indonesia.

Wrestler Bajarang bagged the golden glory, while the shooters Apurava Chandel and Ravi Kumar settled for bronze. however , others failed to meet the expectations with India’s medal tally reflecting just a gold and bronze on Sunday.
