Harry Brook Speaks on missing in World Cup 2023 Squad: Many experienced cricketers available as middle-order batters, Harry Brook was not selected in the World Cup 2023 Squad.
However, he was expected to make the squad, Can’t do anything about it now and also accepted that he had little reason to complain with Stokes coming back.
“Obviously it’s disappointing but I can’t do anything about it now,” Brook said on Friday after a game in The Hundred Men’s Competition.

“You’ve just got to move on. I’m trying not to think about it anymore. I’ve not had much conversation with Matthew [Mott] or Jos [Buttler]. They said with Stokesy coming back I was probably going to miss out this time. He is one of the best players to ever play cricket, so I can’t really complain, can I?”
Brook has only played three ODIs, but has turned into a pivotal player across formats for England since his debut.
Brook felt that the lack of fifty-overs cricket under his belt might also have played a part in him missing out on selection.

“I haven’t had much opportunity to play one-day cricket, whether that be for Yorkshire or England,” Brook said.
“And although I’ve played a lot of T20 cricket, I don’t know if I’ve done as well as I have in the past in the last six months, so that might have had an effect.”

On social media, a depressing video has surfaced that shows Dhoni skipping the post-match handshakes with RCB players and going back to the dressing room.
When the RCB players finished their celebration and shook hands with the CSK players, Dhoni, who hasn’t been totally fit the whole season, was in front of the line. But after a little period, Dhoni made the decision to head back to the dressing room.

Although it’s unclear if Dhoni and the RCB playing XI shook hands afterwards, the seasoned wicketkeeper batting decided to head back to the dressing room at that particular moment rather than waiting for the players of the other team.
In another video, it can be seen that Virat Kohli went after Dhoni to the dressing room, probably to shake hands with him after missing out on the same during their time on the field.

This year’s IPL Final and Qualifier 2 are slated to take place in Chepauk, home field of CSK. Fans have been anticipating to witness Dhoni and his squad raise the trophy in front of their home crowd on May 26 ever since this news was announced. Nevertheless, the unpredictable season resulted in the Chennai team not even qualifying for the postseason.

According to pundit and former CSK batsman Robin Uthappa, Dhoni will return to the Yellow uniform for the next IPL season.
In an interaction with JioCinema, Uthappa said, “I don’t think we have seen the last of MS. He is not someone who takes these things lightly. He will come back roaring for sure,” Uthappa said while speaking on JioCinema.
“Even with the narrative, I have seen him bat only in the last 4 or 5 overs, there is a reason for it. He had a calf injury which they initially thought perhaps was a niggle, but it was a little more grave than that. Because of that, he had to manage himself and often as he does, in international cricket and for CSK, he figured out a way to be useful and contribute to CSK,” the former CSK batter added.

Notably, Dhoni’s 25-run (off 13 balls) innings on Saturday gave CSK a chance to compete against RCB. Ultimately, CSK required 17 runs from the last over in order to go to the playoffs. As he has so often done in the past, MS Dhoni opened the over with a huge six to put rookie Yash Dayal under strain.
But the left-hander bounced back, dismissing Dhoni and adding a dot ball and a single in the next over. Then, CSK needed 10 runs in only two balls, but Yash Dayal’s slower deliveries were too much for a well-conditioned Ravindra Jadeja to handle.
