He also and came close to making it a double this season. But eventually, Ravindra Jadeja powered MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings to a record 5th title in a rain-hit IPL 2023 final.

In his first stint in Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya scored 1476 runs at an average of 27.33 and a strike rate of 153.91 in 92 matches. He also hit four fifties. With the ball, he bagged 42 wickets.

For Gujarat Titans, he was equally successful, scoring 833 runs in 31 matches at an average of 37.86 and a strike rate of 133.49. He scalped 11 wickets.

In the meanwhile, England chose to bat in the second ODI at Cuttack and scored 304. England reached the 300-run milestone thanks to a late drive from Liam Livingstone and half-centuries from Ben Duckett and Joe Root.

Root (69, 72b, 6×4) top-scored for the visitors, but got great support from Duckett (65, 56b, 10×4) and skipper Jos Buttler (34, 35b, 2×4), with whom he had a 51-run stand for the fourth wicket. In the latter part of England’s innings, Livingstone made a 32-ball 41 to give give them some late impetus.

Shreyas Iyer (59 runs from 36 balls, 9 fours and 2 sixes) came on the crease in place of Rohit Sharma and solidified a stupendous 94-run partnership with Gill, giving the Men in Blue a kickstart in the game.

Iyer played an attacking game on Thursday at a strike rate of 163.89. He completed his half-century in the 14th over in style by hitting a four.

However, Jacob Bethell removed the right-handed batsman in the 15.6 over, ending his knock.
