During a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) IPL 2024 Eliminator match, Kohli reached the notable milestone.

When he led the IPL 2024 batting statistics and became the first player to hit 8,000 runs, Kohli achieved history in the richest T20 tournament in the world.

This feat serves as additional evidence of his consistency as a batter all through time.

Kohli needed just 29 runs to cross the 8000-run milestone, and he did so with his signature elegance and precision.

After scoring 33 runs off 24 balls, including three boundaries and a six, Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Kohli from the game. Shikhar Dhawan, his closest competitor, is behind him by 6,769 runs.

So far in the tournament, Kohli has amassed 741 runs in 15 games for RCB. With an average of 64 and a strike rate of 155 this season, he scored one century and five half-centuries.

In the Eliminator clash, the Rajasthan Royals ended their four-match winless run in the IPL and back in the Qualifier 2 following a 4-wicket win against RCB in the Eliminator.

After smashing his half-century in just 17 balls, the 24-year-old went on to reach an incredible ton in just 37 balls. In the earliest innings in T20I cricket history, he achieved his century after just 10.1 overs.

India posted a massive total of 247/9 in 20 overs, and then delivered with the ball in hand. India took wickets at regular intervals to bundle England out for just 97.
