The RCB-shared film opens with an interview with former captain Virat Kohli, who talks about his 2009 first meeting with Karthik in 2009.

.

“The first time I met DK, I remember we were playing in South Africa, if I am not mistaken, in the Champions Trophy 2009. It was the first time I shared the change room with Dinesh, and I found him to be a very amusing, I would say hyper-active, confused person. Most of the time, he was moving all over the place, never stopping. That was my first impression of Dinesh,” Kohli said in the video.

“Outstanding talent, brilliant batter to watch, and my first impression and present-day impression are not far apart. Just that he has become wiser and calmed down a lot,” he added.

“Off the field, I have had some really nice and interesting conversations with him. He is a wise man and has great knowledge about a lot of things, not just cricket. I have thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with him. Even in that phase in 2022, when I did not have a great IPL season. I was really struggling for confidence. He sat me down a couple of times and gave me a very honest explanation of how he is seeing things, and maybe I am not able to see them myself,” Kohli said.

So, I just like his honesty and courage to go and speak to anyone about things that he dearly feels about. And that, I think, is the most special thing for me when it comes to Dinesh, and that’s one thing I have always cherished about him. That’s why we get along really, really well,” Kohli added.

Along with praising Karthik’s integrity and bravery, Virat also recounted a fascinating story from 2022 in which the former didn’t have the finest IPL season. The batter who was keeping wicket took him aside and offered a frank assessment of what may be wrong.

Subsequently, Deepika Pallikal, Karthik’s wife, revealed some of the cricketer’s most memorable memories in the video. But she also acknowledged that it would be difficult for him to step away from the game. Deepika sobbed on television as she recapped her experiences.

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has sad that Pakistan may take the big step of boycotting ICC events if India do not go to Pakistan this time.

Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and reigning champions Pakistan are among the countries that will compete in the Champions Trophy, which will be divided into two groups of four.

“If it is a bilateral series or Asia Cup, then the teams are asked, whether India wants to play or not. This is an ICC event. The cycle has been signed from 2024-2031. All the broadcasters and sponsors have signed about the teams that will participate in the Champions Trophy or the World Cup,” Latif said during the Geo News show.

“If a team denies to participate, they need to have a solid reason to justify their call. Just like in 1996, the West Indies and Australia did not go to Sri Lanka but still reached the final. If you make a reason for security, then it is not a solid reason. Teams like Australia, New Zealand, England, and South Africa are coming to Pakistan. They want to come to Pakistan,” he added

“ICC is existing only because there is Pakistan and India. If the government of Pakistan also says like India that we won’t play, then the ICC will be of no use as no one will watch the match,” Rashid said.

“We can say that India does not want to play bilateral matches, but you can’t deny the ICC events as you already have signed it. India has to make solid ground. If India doesn’t come this time, Pakistan will take a big step by not participating in the tournament,” he added.
