Jofra Archer gets World Cup nod for England: Cricket World Cup 2019

 

Jofra Archer will see his remarkable cricketing rise capped off by a place in England’s World Cup Squad, David Willey is set to be squeezed out of the final squad.

David Willey becomes the odd man out in England’s final World Cup squad. After a long meeting, the selectors on Monday conclude that Willey must make way for Jofra Archer to claim the final bowling place in England’s squad. That has seemed certain to be his ever since he qualified for the land of his father.

Ed Smith announced the 15 man squad in the Writing Room in the Lords pavilion at 9:30 Wednesday. Liam Dawson will also called up having leapfrogged Joe Denly to make the final cut even though. He was not part of the squad for the series against PAK, Telegraph Reported.

Liam Dawson coming in as back up spinner even though he was not selected for England 17 Man squad for their warm up serious against Pakistan. Dawson has got last cap back in Oct, his left arm spin provides a more authentic alternative from the bench should either Moeen Ali or Adil Rashid a short team injury, As per The Guardian.

Willey is a new ball bowler, however with archer and Wood capable of speeds over 90mph. Which will be crucial on flat wickets, and Chris Woaks a first choice player, England have three opening bowlers, so they don’t need a fourth in Willey.
