Karan Johar to make a biopic on Sourav Ganguly: Reports

President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly has often been quizzed about a biopic made on his life.

He has often been quizzed about the idea of making a movie on him. Ganguly had earlier said that he was approached on many occasions by numerous directors and production houses.

There are reports in the media that Karan Johar, the ace Bollywood director is planning to make a biopic on the former Indian cricketer and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

The tabloid reported that they both have had a couple of meetings and are currently in the hunt for the lead actor. We have to wait for an official announcement as this surely sounds a great collaboration.

Several directors have made movies around sportspersons like Mary Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, MS Dhoni-The untold story, Paan Singh Tomar and Azhar.

The directors have been successful in churning out some brilliant numbers in terms of the movies’ collection at the box office.

On the famous biopics, Ganguly said, “I liked the MS Dhoni biopic, [M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story]. Tendulkar’s biopic [Sachin A Billion Dreams] was a little different. Now we have a film on the 1983 World Cup-winning team.

Shahid Kapoor starer movie, which is the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster movie Jersey, is also slated to release in the near future.
