Pakistan's Haider Ali very similar to Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, just needs to be consistent: Ramiz Raja

Ramiz Raja on his YouTube channel said high quality cricket was at display in the tournament and many future talents showed their glimpse.

Former skipper Ramiz Raza has heaped praises on Pakistan batman Haider Ali, saying that the latter has emerged as one of the most promising stars from the Pakistan Super League.

He added, Haider should follows the footsteps of Indian captain Virat Kohli and fellow countryman Babar Azam to turn out as the match-winner for the country.

“After 4 years of long wait, finally 3 to 4 young exciting batsman were also spotted and they can serve Pakistan cricket if they are nurtured well”

Amongst these Raja had also discovered a batsman who he thinks is cut from the same cloth as India captain Virat Kohli and Pakistan’s Babar Azam.

“Haider Ali don’t need to improvise as he has a lot of quality shots in his kitty and his power-hitting base is also very solid. His best reference point is Virat Kohli or Babar Azam.”

Praising Kohli and Babar, Ramiz said their numbers in T20 cricket are staggering because they don’t improvise much. They score risk-free using conventional cricket shots as they are immensely talented as batsmen.

The 19-year-old young batsman, who featured for Peshawar Zalmi in the 2019-20 edition of the PSL, notched up a total of 239 runs in nine matches. He played for the side at an impressive strike rate of 158.25.

Ramiz Raja pointed out that he averages 29 and that is low for a player of his caliber and so he should look to hit more fifties and hundreds.
