Babar Azam Creates history in Pakistan Super League, by becoming the first batter to achieve this huge feat: In the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, Babar Azam is heading the Peshawar Zalmi. The team lost their opening game to the Quetta Gladiators by a score of 16 runs, but Azam was outstanding in the game, scoring 68 runs off of 42 deliveries while hitting four fours and four sixes.

Babar Azam became the first player to reach the 3000-run milestone in PSL history with this innings. In the PSL, he has amassed 3003 runs at a strike percentage of 125.49 in 78 innings.

Along with Saim Ayub, Babar Azam began the innings and together they amassed 91 runs, chased a massive 207 runs that the Quetta Gladiators had set.

Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel destroyed the Peshawar bowlers, adding 157 runs for the opening partnership, after Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bowl first. Jason Roy hit 75 off 48 deliveries, while Saud Shakeel struck 74 off 47 deliveries, all of which Babar Azam dismissed with a brilliant catch.

In the Pakistan Super League, Babar Azam achieved the 3,000 milestone, while Mohammad Rizwan became the most recent inductee into the 2000 runs club. Rizwan was the fourth hitter to surpass the 2000 runs mark in the PSL, tallying 2007 runs in 61 innings with a strike rate of 128.32.

The Multan Sultans’ captain, Muhammad Rizwan, guided his squad to the championship game the previous season. In their opening match of the season, Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by a margin of 55 runs.

Since its inaugural in 2016, the Pakistan Super League has served as both an annual competition for Pakistani players and an excellent platform for developing fresh talent. The tournament’s all-time highest scorer is Babar Azam, while the players with the most runs in the competition are also Fakhar Zaman, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Rizwan, and Kamran Akmal.

Fakhar Zaman: Zaman currently plays for the defending champions Lahore Qalandars which is led by Shaheen Shah Afridi. He has amassed 2381 runs in 77 innings at a strike rate of 141.97

Shoaib Malik: Shoaib represents Karachi Kings and has amassed 2135 runs in 78 innings at a strike rate of 130.18 and he has also represented Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans previously.

Mohammad Rizwan: Rizwan is the captain of the Multan Sultans and he is the latest entry in the 2000 runs club in the PSL. He has amassed 2007 runs in 61 innings at a strike rate of 128.32

Kamran Akmal: He played for Peshawar Zalmi and has amassed 1927 runs in 74 innings at a strike rate of 136.94

Bumrah took eight wickets (5+3) while leading India in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy without Rohit Sharma. India took a 1-0 lead in the series under his leadership after crushing the Australians by 295 runs in four days.

Bumrah took nine wickets in the third (6+3) and fourth (4+5) Tests at The Gabba and Melbourne Cricket Ground, respectively, and dismissed four Australian batsmen in the Day-Night Test held at Adelaide Oval from December 6–8.

In addition to his bowling, Bumrah impressed with his batting as well in the first innings of the Brisbane Test and scored 10 runs as No. 10 batter to help India successfully avoid the follow-on.
