Second Knee Surgery was a Tough Call to make: Suresh Raina

Indian batsman Suresh Raina posted a heartfelt message on his social media handles after he underwent a knee surgery in Amsterdam and updated fans about his health.

32 year old left hander had a niggling knee problem since last season and will require at least six of intencse rehabilitation for recovery, which effectively rules him out of the better part of India’s domestic season, starting later this month.

Suresh Raina Share a post in twitter, “I am out of surgery and healing steadily, for which I thank my doctors, family, friends and everyone who has wished me good health and speedy recovery”.

“The issue began way back. It was 2007 when I underwent my maiden knee surgery and later, I was back on the field, Giving the game my 100 percent, all thanks to my trainers and doctors.”

He added, However, a nagging discomfort returned last couple of years. During the episodes of niggling pain, to avoid any impact on my game, my trainers kept me going and helped me a lot in trianning my muscles well so that it would take the load off of the knee.

he thanked his doctors, family and friend for standing by his side.

Raina, who has played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20I internationals, last represented India in July 2018 in an ODI against England at the Leeds.

The 32 years old last played for India in an ODI agaisnt England in 2018. The left handed batsman will not be available for most of part of India’s upcoming season which begins with Duleep Trophy.
