Selectors set One Big Condition for Ishan Kishan to Make Comeback in Indian Cricket Team: The BCCI has been asked Ishan Kishan to not miss domestic cricket if not busy with national duty. Then, with no international cricket for over a month and India’s domestic season set to get underway with the revamped Trophy early next month, a host of top India players could be seen in action, playing their trades for various India representative teams in the historic red-ball competition.

Through the competition, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, King Kohli among others will get into mode with Bangladesh to tou for a two-match sereis from Sept 19.

The tournament will also serve as a platform for a certain Ishan Kishan to relaunch his India career according to a report in The Indian Express.

The selection committee wants the wicketkeeper-batter to play in Duleep Trophy if he harbours ambition of India comeback.

Ishan was allegedly asked to take a vacation from cricket halfway through the South Africa trip, which led to his removal from all-format India selections. Despite the BCCI’s advice to cricketers not to boycott domestic tournaments, he did not play for his home side, Jharkhand, in the Ranji Trophy either.

Ishan was removed from the board’s annual list of players under central contract after the BCCI slapped him with a whip. Alongside India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, the 26-year-old continued to train in Baroda throughout this period.

Ishan later made his competitive return through the DY Patil T20 tournament in February before representing Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.

“I was scoring runs and then I found myself on the bench,” he said. “These things do happen in a team sport. But I experienced travel fatigue. It meant there was something wrong, I was not feeling well or right and so I decided to take a break. However, sadly, barring my family and few close people no one understood that.”
