Tamim Iqbal scored unbeaten 334*, Tamim sets the first-class record

Tamim Iqbal wrote his name in history books with Bangladesh’s highest individual score after scoring an unbeaten 334 in a Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Tamim Iqbal, on Sunday, played a record-breaking knock of 334*, breaking a national record in the process. Iqbal, who is the highest run-getter for Bangladesh in international cricket, is currently playing for East Zone in Bangladesh Cricket League.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board praised the effort of the left-hander at the end of the third day’s play, who stayed at the crease for 585 minutes for his triple ton and remained unbeaten after having faced 426 balls.

Tamim scored his 334 runs off 426 deliveries with forty-two fours and three sixes.

The first triple century was Rakibul Hasan who scored 313 in 2007. Tamim crossed the 313 run mark as well and finished as 334 not out eventually when his team East Zone declared. The innings on 555 for 2 against Central Zone during their Bangladesh Cricket League match (BCL) on Sunday.

The 30-year-old left-hander, started the day while on the score of 222 runs. He steadily progressed through to the 290s, facing the bowling of the likes of Mustafizur Rahman in the process.

Once, in the vicinity of the triple ton, he switched gears and hammered his way to the ton. He hit 42 fours and 3 sixes, in his 426 balls long stay on the crease.

Owing to his mammoth knock, his team posted a total of 555 for the loss of two wickets, before declaring the inning.
