UPCA will launch Uttar Pradesh Premier League in August: Utter Pradesh Cricket Association has taken a step for Uttar Pradesh cricketers, as the board has decided to launch Uttar Pradesh Premier League.

The franchise based tournament is likely to begin from August, with close to 120 players from UP participating.

However, BCCI firstly approve the tournament before the it begin. The board has discloses teams and venue for the tournament. There will be six team likely to participate

According to sources, 20 companies are showing a considerable amount of interest to buy six teams. Not only players but coaches and umpires also be from UP only. During the last week of July, teams will be finalized, and by August 13 or 14, players will go under the hammer.

The T20 tournament will span 20 to 22 days. Star Sports and Jio are vying to bag broadcast rights for the inaugural edition of UPL, but the chances of Jio bagging the deal are more owing to the huge amount they are willing to spend to bag broadcast rights.

The report also states that Green Park Stadium’s floodlight work will be completed during UPL. Also, UPCA will be holding Ranji Trials on July 26, and the players who perform well can also be shortlisted during the auction.
