Sri Lanka skipper Lasith Malinga on Friday picked 4 wickets in four balls against New Zealand, has jumped 20 places to No.21 on the latest MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I rankings for bowlers.

During the last T20I match of the series against New Zealand at Pallekele, Malinga dismissed the top 4 Kiwi batsman in 4 balls. Lasith Malinga became the first-ever bowler to take 100 wickets in T20I format in 3rd T20I against New Zealand.

Malinga dismissed Kiwi’s Colin Munro, Hamish Rutherford, Colin de Grandhomme, and Ross Taylor to achieve this feat.

Lasith Malinga said in a presentation, The secret to my bowling is not to complicate things much. Yourker was my bext ball, I only try to my best to bowl the right line right lenght. Really happy that we won the match, I am a wicket-taking bowler when I play for Sri Lanka.

Malinga finished with figures of 4-1-6-5, as Sri Lanka notched up a consolation 37-run. He had taken his 1st T20I hat-trick in a T20 match against Bangladesh on April 2017.

He is the only bowler in international cricket to have picked 4 wickets in 4 balls twice. In 2007, Lasith Malinga first achieved the feat in an ODI against South Africa.

Lasith Malinga also picked up his 100the T20I wicket– the 1st ever bowler in T20I to do so. Pakistani Former, Shahid Afridi finished with 98 wickets.

In the bowling table, Mitchell Santner jumped six places to climb into the top 10, and currently at No.5. Tim Southi, leaped 14 rugged to seal the 15th spot in the list.
