West Indies vs India: India teammates Congratulate Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle hit a 72 runs off 41 balls in the 3rd ODI in Port of Spain. Walking out to bat in a special jersey, 301, the big hitting opener marked the occasion of his 301st ODI with an innings to remember.

There’s no official communication as yet but it’s safe to assume that legendary West Indies opener Chris Gayle has played his final ODI on Wednesday.

Gayle set the stage on fire with his big-hitting prowess, before getting caught by Virat Kohli off Khaleel Ahmed in the 3rd ODI match in Trinidad. He hit five sixes and 8 fours in his last ODI innings.

Indian players walked towards Chris Gayle to congratulate him after entertaining display and the West Indies dressing gave him a standing ovation. There was also a heartwarming moment where Gayle and Virat did their famous hig-five.

Chris Gayle accepted the greetings of all the Indian players including India captain Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

Chris Gayle is now most capped West Indies player in ODIs as the big-hitting opener went past Brian Lara’s mark of 299 ODIs during the 2nd ODI of the ongoing series on Sunday.

Gayle has so far played 301 ODIs and has a staggering 10,480 runs in the fifty over format including 25 hundred and 55 half-centuries. He hit 331 sixes , 1128 fours with a highest scored 215* runs.
