With the assistance of 21 fours and 10 sixes, Maxwell scored an undefeated 201 in 128 balls. He had a strike rate of more than 157. He proceeded to create history in the process, hitting many new records during his storied career as a cricket player.

This is the eleventh instance of a double century in 50 overs of cricket and Australia’s first-ever ODI double century overall. 2011 saw Maxwell surpass Shane Watson’s 185* against Bangladesh.

In an ODI run-chase, this is also the greatest individual score. Here, Maxwell defeated Fakhar Zaman of Pakistan, who in 2021 crushed 193 against South Africa.

Maxwell’s double ton is now the greatest score by a non-opener in ODI cricket history, surpassing Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe’s 194 against Bangladesh in 2009.

Maxwell’s 201* is only the third instance of a double hundred in ODI Cricket World Cups, with Chris Gayle (215 against Zimbabwe in 2015 for West Indies) and Martin Guptill (237 against West Indies in 2015 for New Zealand) being the other two instances.

The partnership of 202 runs between Maxwell and skipper Pat Cummins (12*) is the highest-ever partnership for seventh wicket or below in ODIs. It has overtaken the 177-run stand between Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid of England against New Zealand in 2015 for seventh wicket.

In just 128 balls, Maxwell achieved his double century, which is the second-fastest in ODI history. Ishan Kishan of India achieved the quickest double century in history last year against Bangladesh, needing just 126 balls.

With 10 sixes smashed in the match, Maxwell has 33 sixes in his World Cup career and is now in third place among players with the most WC sixes. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (45) and West Indies legend Chris Gayle (49) are above him.

Pakistan Will Not Play ICC Events, If India Will not Come for Champions Trophy

Pakistan Will Not Play ICC Events, If India Will not Come for Champions Trophy: Off the cricket field, the India versus. Pakistan match has resumed. Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has sad that Pakistan may take the big step of boycotting ICC events if India do not go to Pakistan this time.

Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and reigning champions Pakistan are among the countries that will compete in the Champions Trophy, which will be divided into two groups of four.

“If it is a bilateral series or Asia Cup, then the teams are asked, whether India wants to play or not. This is an ICC event. The cycle has been signed from 2024-2031. All the broadcasters and sponsors have signed about the teams that will participate in the Champions Trophy or the World Cup,” Latif said during the Geo News show.

“If a team denies to participate, they need to have a solid reason to justify their call. Just like in 1996, the West Indies and Australia did not go to Sri Lanka but still reached the final. If you make a reason for security, then it is not a solid reason. Teams like Australia, New Zealand, England, and South Africa are coming to Pakistan. They want to come to Pakistan,” he added

“ICC is existing only because there is Pakistan and India. If the government of Pakistan also says like India that we won’t play, then the ICC will be of no use as no one will watch the match,” Rashid said.

“We can say that India does not want to play bilateral matches, but you can’t deny the ICC events as you already have signed it. India has to make solid ground. If India doesn’t come this time, Pakistan will take a big step by not participating in the tournament,” he added.
