World Cup 2023 India vs Pakistan: ICC revealed the full schedules for World Cup 2023. They revealed that India will face Pakistan on October 15 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This match is bigger than the World Cup 2023 final IND vs PAK is one the biggest and mouth watering clashes of the ICC World Cup 2023.
The apex cricketing bodies of both the nations have been at cross roads for quite sometime. With the ongoing conflict about the Asia Cup, the drama continued with the ICC World Cup as well.
When plans were brought forward about the choice of the venues, the Pakistan Cricket Board made it absolutely clear that they won’t face India in Ahmedabad.
The showcase tournament (ICC World Cup 2023) will feature a total of 10 teams. The first eight of whom have previously qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League.
The Qualifier competition in Zimbabwe, which ends on July 9, will determine the remaining two slots.
PCB made it clear that they won’t take on their arch rivals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad citing Safety corners.
Pakistan Cricket Board also claimed that the Pakistan Team are not comfortable in facing Afghanistan in a spin heavy Chennai Pitch. And neither are they keen on facing Australia in a high run scoring pitch at Bengaluru. PCB demanded that the venues for AFG and AUS games be swapped.
But the ICC and BCCI paid no need to those demands. And the schedule is set to go as per previously planned in the draft schedule.
This means that Rohit Sharma and Co will go on to face Babar Azam. And his boys on October 15th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in what promises to be a highly entertaining clash.
