Ravichandran Ashwin Will not Be A Part Of India’s World Cup Squad: After returning to the Indian team for the ODIs, Ravichandran Ashwin showed outstanding form. In two matches against the Australian team, he got four wickets and is having a wonderful year with the white ball.

Ashwin has the opportunity to prove his eligibility for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 thanks to Axar Patel’s injury. Former Australian cricketer Aaron Finch, who also captained Australia in the 2019 World Cup, believes that Ravichandran Ashwin would find it tough to make the squad for the World Cup. He is one of India’s most seasoned spinners. But considering how he was initially ignored when the World Cup squad was released, It is possible that he won’t be selected for the team despite playing well in the current ODI Series against Australia.

“I think he (Ashwin) might struggle to make it to the final 15, but as somebody who has played so much cricket. I think the rest of the group that is with the Indian team for this current series against Australia. they could learn so much about big gameplay because Ashwin is somebody that stands up in big games, whether it’s a Test match or a T20 game, he has done it throughout his career. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s there at the moment as a mentor around the group, but I don’t see him making that last 15, unfortunately,” said Finch.
Axar Patel is now injured and have to show his fitness before the World Cup starts. Otherwise, the team management would have had to find a replacement for him. With no off-spinner on the roster and Ashwin’s ability to bring variation to the lineup, Ravichandran Ashwin is India’s best option to replace Axar Patel.
