The 36-year-old was on the verge of surpassing Chris Gayle of the West Indies as the cricketer with the most sixes in international cricket until today. Chris Gayle held the record with 553 sixes, however Rohit was only 2 sixes away from surpassing it.
Earlier, Rohit became the fastest to hit 550 sixes, surpassing Gayle (548) to reach the feat in just 471 innings across formats.
