WPL 2024 Auction Players List Announced- Dotting, Devika, Shabnim Feature: Prior to the WPL 2024 auction scheduled for December 9, 165 cricketers world have placed their names in the auction hat.

Players from 15 different nations are included in the WPL auction list, that is separated into three categories: associate, capped, and uncapped. A minimum of ₹ 30 lakh is the reserved fee for capped players, or those who have represented their country in cricket. On the other hand, associate and uncapped players will get a minimum of ₹ 10 lakh.

Among the 165 players who have registered, 15 are classified as associates, 94 as uncapped, and the remaining 56 as capped. In the WPL 2024 auction, players as young as 18-year-old Nisha Saina will compete against seasoned players like 20-year-old Ekta Bisht.

In all, 60 players (39 Indian and 21 foreign) have been retained by the five teams. This indicates that out of the 165 players whose names are on the auction, only 30 players (21 Indian and 9 foreign) may be purchased.

Jasprit Bumrah Wins ICC Test Player of the Year 2024 Award: Jasprit Bumrah, a prominent fast bowler from India, was named the ICC Test Player of the Year 2024 on Monday, January 27. Last year, he dismissed 71 batsmen in 13 Test matches.

In the home series against England and the away series against Australia, Bumrah was playing at the top of his game for India.

Before taking 19 wickets in four Test matches against England, Bumrah began 2024 with six wickets in the second innings in the Cape Town Test match against South Africa on January 4, 2024.

Bumrah finished the two-match series against Bangladesh in September-October with 11 wickets, and in the first two matches of the New Zealand series, he picked up three wickets.

Bumrah took eight wickets (5+3) while leading India in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy without Rohit Sharma. India took a 1-0 lead in the series under his leadership after crushing the Australians by 295 runs in four days.

Bumrah took nine wickets in the third (6+3) and fourth (4+5) Tests at The Gabba and Melbourne Cricket Ground, respectively, and dismissed four Australian batsmen in the Day-Night Test held at Adelaide Oval from December 6–8.

In addition to his bowling, Bumrah impressed with his batting as well in the first innings of the Brisbane Test and scored 10 runs as No. 10 batter to help India successfully avoid the follow-on.
