Barcelona's Lionel Messi rubbishes report of Inter Milan Move

Football superstar Lionel Messi took to social media to dismiss a report that claimed he was leaving Barcelona for a move to Italian giants Inter Milan.

The Argentina forward also denied rumours of a possible transfer to his former Argentinian side Newell’s Old Boys.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner has been widely linked with a move to the San Siro in recent weeks, with the Italian side’s former president Massimo Moratti claiming that Inter should make an attempt to land the Argentine.

Lionel Messi also rubbished a rumour that claimed he had paid the bail money to allow the release of Brazilian football star Ronaldinho from a Paraguay jail.

In a seemingly angry Instagram post, Lionel Messi shared a tweet from a football news portal and singled out the Inter move and Ronaldinho bail money reports as ‘Lie No. 1’ and ‘Lie No.2’.

Meanwhile, Messi is expected to stay at Barcelona at least until the end of his current contract that expires in 2021. Messi has had a turbulent relationship with Barcelona’s top brass in the recent past.

The Argentina superstar recently slammed Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal over his comments on players not working hard.

Recently, Lionel Messi, while announcing Barcelona players’ decision to take pay cuts in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, said some in the management were forcing players to take pay cuts.

“We fully understand that this is an exceptional situation and we are always the first ones to help the club when asked,” Lionel Messi said.
