Indian squad update: BCCI is expected to rest the key players for the series against the west Indies. As per the source Dhoni will be rested for the upcoming series. The Indian selection committee will meet at Mumbai on 18th to pick the squad. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian limited overs side against West Indies.

India, after being knocked out of the World Cup from semi-finals after suffering an 18 runs defeat to New Zealand. West Indies for a full series comprising two Tests, 3 ODIs and three T20Is. The T20I series will be followed by three ODIs and two Test matches. Ajinkya Rahane is expected to lead the Test side of Kohli is given a break.

The official also stated that Bumrah likely to be rested for the ODIs and T20Is. The duo has been playing all three formats continuously since 2018. West Indies series will open the door for young fast bowlers such as Khaleel, Nabdeep Saini or Deepak Chahar.

Team India is expected to arrive in India on the 14th of July. The West Indies series will begin in three weeks’s time.

Kohli is not he only cricketer all but certain to opt out from the West Indies series. Report also states that there was not clarity on MS Dhoni’s availability for the West Indies tour. There have been speculations about the former captain’s retirement after he played his last World Cup match in the semi final on Wednesday.
