England will be hope for 5-0 whitewash is slowly gathering pace but Jonny Bairstow reckons there is still a lot more cricket left to play in the series and condition can changes.
England have dominated world no 1 India in the ongoing five-test series, they sealed a closed win a Edgbaston and then bossed over their opponents in the 2nd Test at Lord’s for a massive win to take 2-0 lead.
The tourists suffered humiliating innings defeat at Lord’s on Sunday, England become unstoppable at the moment but Bairstow is taking nothing for granted and said India still has the ability to turn things around.
Bairstow has quoted as saying The Daily Telegraph, “Yes We have exploited the conditions and we know how to play in home conditions, but I do not think you can say that India are vulnerable. They are the number one side in the world for season and there is lot of cricket still played in the series.”
Bairstow Added, “It’s too early to be talking about 5-0 , the weather could get hot again, the pitches at Southamton and the Oval could be dry. We definitely will no be taking our foot off the pedal.”
The third begins at Trend Bridge in Nottingham from August 18, England skipper Joe Root had said after the second Test win at Lord’s that a 5-0 result would be a dream.
He added, Obviously ,that would be the dream—to put in five complete performances and have five wins , but it’s important we don’t get complacent, arrogant, or look too far ahead.
England’s star allrounder Ben Stokes has confirmed that he will be rejoin in the third Test.
