MS Dhoni return in T20I team & Hardik Pandya back in Indian ODI squad

Mahendra Singh Dhoni brought back to India’s T20 squad to ensure he gets Enough game time” before the ODI world Cup. MS Dhoni name included in Indian’s 16 member squad for T20I against New Zealand.

BCCI announced the ODI teams for series against Australia and New Zealand. Young wicket keeper Rishabh Pant , who was in the ODI squad for the Windies series. He was dropped and will be returning home after the Test series in Australia.

Hardik Pandya has made a comeback in the ODI and T20I after injured in Asia Cup in Sept 2018. Virat Kohli will lead the side with opener Rohit Sharma as hid deputy. Dinesh Karthik has been retained in both squads while Ambati Rayudu is there in the ODI.

However 37 year old’s selection, a BCCI official , on condition of anonymity , told PTI. Since there are only eight ODIs, selectors want to give MS as much game time as possible before the world cup.

When will be play ODI series?

India will play three ODI against Australia in Jan 12 (Sydney), Jan 15 (Adelaide) and Jan 18 (Melbourne).

India will play 5 ODI against New Zealand in Jan 23, 26, 28, 31 and Feb 3. And T20I will begin in Feb 6, 8 and 10.

Selection Committee’s decision to bring back MS Dhoni is set raise a few eyebrows as the logic given before Australia T20s was that he was not going to be in the scheme of things for the T20 World Cup.

That is the reason Rishabh Panth is a part of T20 squad. And K Jadhav and H Pandya are fit and Kedar being an off break bowler.

India team are currently in a test series against Australia and will play three ODI.
