Seven time Wimbledon winner Serena Williams to face two time Grand Slam champion Kerber on Saturday. She Remains on course for her eight Wimbledon singles title after setting up a final against Germany’s Angelique Kerber. 36 year old Serena Williams reached her 10th final at the All England Club I just her 13th match since giving birth to daughter Olympia last year. After impressive winning record in Wimbledon semi finals to 10-1 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Julia Goerges.
Beating 13th seeded Julia Goerges of Germany 6-2, 6-4 at Centre court to close in on what would be an eight championship at the All England Club and 24th major trophy overall. Now Serena will face another German 11th seeded Angelique Kerber on Saturday in rematch of the 2016 final Wimbledon.
She is also closing in o her 24th Grand Slam title, which would Margaret Court’s all time record. A lot of people were saying , “oh she should be in final” the 36 year old Serena said, for me its such a pleasure and joy because, you know , less than a year ago , I was going through so much stuff.
“I literally did not expect to do this well in my fourth tournament back” said Serena, who booked a spot in her 30th Grand Slam final. Its not inevitable fo me to be paying like this . I had multiple surgeried and nearly did not made it when I gave birth.
Kerber Proves toll Solid:
Germany’s Angelique Kerber proved too solid for error- strewn Latvian Jenena Ostapenko as she reached her second Wimbledon final with 6-3 6-3 victory on Thursday.
The 30th year old was gifted point after point as Ostapenko’s aggressive game backfired in a blaze of unforced errors. Kerber used a seven game run seize control of her semifinal and collect a 6-3 6-3 victory over the 12th seeded Ostapenko.
