Apple Announces Free Repair Program for iPhone 6s Smartphone for "No Power" Issue

Apple announced a service repair program on Friday for some iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices to fix a problem that might prevent owners from being able to turn them on.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus service Program for No Power issue are meant for certain handset produced between October last year and August this year.

The program covers the affected iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus smartphone for two years after the first retail sale of the unit.

If the handset is eligible, Apple one of Apple’s authorized repair shops will repair it free of charge.

Apple says Apple has determined that certain iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may not power on due to a component that may fail.

This issue only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between October 2018 to August 2019.

The iPhone 6s was introduced in 2015 and was the second iPhone model too comes in two sizes. It’s also the last new iPhone model with a headphone jack. Although Apple stopped selling the iPhone 6S in late 2018.

Apple says eligible iPhone will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program. In order to get your iPhone serviced, you can find an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service via the Apple Repair Center.

The company has determined that certain iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may not power on due to a component that may fail.

If your iPhone has any damage which impairs the ability to complete the repair, such a cracked screen.

That issue will need to be resolved prior to the service. There may be a cost associated with the additional repair.
