Apple’s iPhone press event will be live streamed on Twitter for the first time, as TechCrunch has confirmed.

Apple has been live streaming its iPhone announcements for years, but the company has always kept the events restricted too Apple devices.

Today , Apple will also be streaming the iPhone announcement on Twitter. This move by Apple is its second major expansion in terms of streaming options in recent times.

Apple is set to launch iPhone tonight at 10:30 PM IST at Steve Jobs theatre. The Cupertino major is expected to launch three iPhones this year alongside Apple Watch series 4, and new iPad Pro (2018) models.

The tweets asks users to sign up for updates on event day and follow the action on Twitter via the #AppleEvent hashtag.
