Google Assistant can now make Whatsapp audio and video calls

Google ha announced a number of new features for its in-house digital assistant, Google Assistant. Assistant can do a lot of things and it even integration with a bunch of third-party messaging services.

Google announced that Assistant would be able to make video and audio calls with WhatsApp. Previously, Users were limited to sending messages, recording and sending voice messages and even reading the incoming message using Google Assistant.

Google also announced Ambient Mode, which transforms the way information appears on the smart displays powered by Google. This will easier to see notification and reminders, start a playlist and control smart home devices on the lock screen of your device.

Addition of such features will make Assistant-powered smart speakers or smart display devices more useful. Now you can make hands-free audio and video calls with the Assistant starting in the WhatsApp Android app.

The Company also announced the list of voice-activated speakers and soundbars that will get the Google Assistant this week. The list include-JBL Link Music, Phillips AW25 and TAPN805 (soundbar), Konka G1, SEIKI Tough and Cigar, high fidelity Braun Audio LE01, LE02 and LE03.

Google announced We’re also expanding the Assistant to more Android TVs from top brands, including Hisense, Sony, TCL, Philips, Changhong, Haier, Skyworth, Metz, Vestel, Sharp, JVC, XGIMI Projector, RCA and SmartTech.

The app is currently does not support Smart home devices or speakers. Support for WhatsApp calls on Assistant-powered smart speakers and display means additional functionality.
