How to Apply Online e-Shram Card to get 500 rupees every month; Eligibility Criteria & Documents Required

e-Shram Card: Indian government has been rolled out a national database for unorganized workers in India.
For the welfare of unorganized workers in the country, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has launched the e-SHRAM portal on 26 August 2021.
Candidates who register for E Shram will get a Unique Identification Number (UAN) Card.
The registration under the portal is free and workers can simply register by heading to Common Service Centres (CSCs), or Regional Offices of State Government.
Over 16 crore unorganized workers in the country have registered under the portal. The registration on the portal is free of cost and the individuals need not pay anything during their registration at Common Service Centres (CSCs), or Regional Offices of State Government.
Upon successful registration, the workers will receive an e-SHRAM card having a unique Universal Account Number (UAN) through which the benefits of the various social security schemes can be accessed.

The portal will have details of the individual such as name, occupation, address, educational qualification, skillset, and family details to extend benefits of the social security schemes to them.
e-SHRAM Card Eligibility Criteria:
As far as eligibility is concerned, one must hold Indian Citizenship and should be in the age group between 18-59 years.
Under this, the central government will issue a 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN) for around 38 crores of unorganized workers. Check eligibility criteria below before applying for the e-SHRAM card:
Any worker such as migrant worker, gig workers, platform workers, and MGNREGA working in an unorganized sector.
The age of the worker should be between 16-59.
The applicant must not be a member of EPFO and ESIC.
The worker should not be a taxpayer.

How to register online for e-Shram Card:
Go to the official website- eshram.gov.in
Click the Register on e-SHRAM link on the home page
Fill the Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP
Now fill in all the required details.
Upload documents as asked.
Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Take a printout of the application form for future reference.
