Netflix India is offering the first month at just Rs 5 in New Test

Netflix is testing a new offer where users in India can get the first month at just Rs 5. The offer will start rolling out from February 21, though not all new customers will see the option. This is not a price test, but a promotional strategy.

Indian Express reported, Netflix is testing a new introductory offer for new members. Every new user signing up for a Netflix membership will get the first month for a subscription charge of Rs 5 per month. Once the first month is over, the user will be charged at normal rates based on the chosen plan.

The offer will be available from February 21 and the report says not all members will get the promotional offer.

This offer is however not available for all users. Only those who subscribe to Netflix for the first time will be applicable for this Rs 5 offer.

Even among the new users, only select lucky ones will get this offer. Netflix regularly tests new features and subscription plans on its platform and this one is another test.

Hindustan Times Reported, this is a new marketing promotion designed to help more people discover Netflix. Depending on its success, we may roll it out more widely.

Users can opt for any of the Netflix plans – Rs 199 mobile plan, Rs 499 plan, Rs 649 standard plan and Rs 799 premium plan. Any of these plans can be chosen and the first month will be available at Rs 5. Also, the features will be available according to the subscription plan chosen by the user.

The new promotion offer will apply to any plan that the customer decides to opt for when signing up on Netflix. This could be the basic mobile plan of Rs 199 or the most expensive plan of Rs 799 per month.
