Redmi 8A with 5,000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 439 SoC; launched in India at Rs 6,499

The brand new Redmi 8A, the successor to the Redmi 7A was announced in India. The Redmi 8A is a budget smartphone that’s taking on the Realme C2 and the Samsung Galaxy M10.

The new handset is affordable mobile with a starting price or Rs 6,499. The device comes with a new aura Wave Grip design with splash-resistant P2i nano-coating.

The smartphone is available in two variants– 2GB of RAM with 32 storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage. Xiaomi Redmi 8A price in India for the 2GB RAM variant is Rs. 6,499 and Redmi 8A 3GB RAM variant price in India is Rs. 6,999.

Redmi 8A features a 6.22-inch HD IPS LCD display with Xiaomi’s dot notch design with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC with a 5,000mAh battery and a USB Type-C port along with 18W fast charging support.

There is a 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens and an LED flash. The device has an 8MP camera to take selfies. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It will run on Android 9.0 pie with Xiaomi’s MIUI 1o on the top. It has dual SIM slot along with a dedicated microSD card, expand up to 512GB.
