Update: WhatsApp may soon announce animated stickers

WhatsApp is working on launch animated stickers to its Andorid, iOS and Web. Developer seem to continuously working on new features. This feature is currently being tested on Android, iOS and Web App.

WABetaInfo says, This feature first spotted by WhatsApp Beta tester, and it is still under the development, and beta tester may not be able to see it despite updating the app to the latest version.

Stickers support was announced in Oct 2018 for Android and iOS platform. It offers 13 sets of Stickers -Cuppy, Merry and Bright, Salty, Komo, Bibimbap Friends, Unchi & ROllie, Shiba Inu, The Maladroits, Koko, Hatch, Fearless and Fabulous, Banana and Biscuit.

Users will get get more stickers from the Google Play Store by tapping on the get more stickers option at the bottom of the list.

Users will be able to preview the animated stickers in the Sticker section in the keyboard section. Animated stickers will also continue to play unlike GIFs that only plays back for about ten times before stopping.

This feature is currently hidden as the feature is not ready for prime time. The developers are expected to bring it to the beta version of the app as soon as possible. They have ensure that the feature has reached certain level of stability.

WhatsApp reported earlier this week, Working on a new feature to prevent users from taking a screenshot of chats for Android users, by creating a tradeoff between privacy ans Security. The ability to block screenshot feature will only go live when fingerprints authentication feature will arrive for Android Users.

Fingerprint authentication enables, you will not be able to be able to take screenshot of your chant windows. But, If the other person has switched off fingerprints lock then that person will be able to take screenshots.

The launch date still unclear when the feature will be rolled out. However as the report suggests, it will be coming for all platform.
