WhatsApp Updated Group Privacy Settings, Consecutive Voice Messages Playback to Web

WhatsApp introduced group Privacy Settings, which offering users control over who can add them to group conversations. This will prevent users from adding them to random groups, creating a nuisance, and re-adding them once they leave.

The feature was spotted in the latest Android and iOS beta, And there has been a slight tweak to it as well. Instead of the Nobody option that was available earlier in Group Privacy Settings- wherein no user could add you to a group without consent- a new Blacklist option has been revealed.

WhatsApp also revealed the ability to listen to voice messages consecutively on the desktop version of the app as well.

According to the WABetaInfo, the company is extending the support for this feature to more users. And exactly today WhatsApp is finally expanding their tests, rolling out the Group Privacy Settings for a lot of iOS and Android users, very necessary because many users were added in groups without their permission.

Check for the new option added to WhatsApp Beta WhatsApp Settings -> Account -> Privacy -> Groups. Three options that now show up include Everyone, My Contacts, and My Contacts Except. When the feature first rolled out, there was a nobody Option, instead of the My Contacts Except option.

The blacklist feature will require all your contacts to send a request to join groups whereas those excluded here, including family members and friends you trust, can add you to groups directly without your permission.

WABetaInfo also reports that WhatsApp Web gets the ability to listen to voice messages consecutively. This Consecutive Voice Messages feature was spotted on Android in March, and now it has arrived on the Web version as well. As the name suggests, this feature allows for auto-playing of two or more voice messages sent on after the other.
