Youtube Music app to come pre-installed on Android devices running Android 9+

YouTube Music has gradually been getting popularity among smartphone users in India eve since th service was released. Google made that perfectly clear by announcing that future devices will come with pre-installed YouTube Music app.

Music fans on Android phones can now easily unlock the magic of YouTube Music. It will come installed on all new devices launching with Android 10, including Pixel series, Google writes in a recent post.

The California tech giant has been working towards replacing Google Play Music with YouTube Music on Android devices for about a year now. By taking its place as the default audio player for Android. YouTube Music inherits feature such as offline music file playback from Google Play Music.

Earlier this year, Google introduced YouTube Music and YouTube Premium service in India earlier this year at a starting price of Rs 99 per month. Users to listen to music ad-free, download tunes locally, and play music on their devices with the screen turned off.

YouTube Premium-which was previously known as YouTube Red-offer access to a list of original films and Mini-series called YouTube Originals.

Google’s new measure to push its music streaming platform will be making YouTube Music app a mandatory GApps application. The GApps package is a set of Google applications that ships in every new Android smartphone. Applications such as Maps, Drive, Chrome, Gmail, YouTube are all part of the GApps package.
