Ajinkya Rahane’s Post Goes Viral on Social Media: Following India’s humiliating defeat by South Africa in the opening Test, Ajinkya Rahane shared a practice video on social media that quickly gained popularity.
Ajinkya Rahane shared a video of his practice session on social media. The right-handed hitter was seen playing a flip shot with a fuller delivery in the four-second footage. “No rest days,” read the video’s caption.
It’s crucial to note that Rahane’s post was made following India’s humbling defeat by South Africa in the first Test match held in Centurion. India lost by an innings and 32 runs because to the Proteas’ outstanding all-around performance.
India’s three-day fantasy of winning a Test series in South Africa came to an abrupt end on Thursday when they lost badly at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
With the series consisting of only two matches they can at best earn a share of the honours if they win the second Test starting in Cape Town on Wednesday.
“We’ll regroup and come back,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma after the game.
“It’s important to regroup as quickly as we can, tough from a loss like these but as sportsmen you go through these times. Got to pick ourselves up.”
India had no answer to South Africa’s pace attack as they crashed to 131 all out in their second innings, after conceding a 163-run first innings lead.
On a surface that was active, Virat Kohli scored a strong 76 runs for India before being the last man out, while the rest of the batting order crumbled against South Africa’s quick bowlers.
There were just 34.1 overs in the second innings. In an 82-ball inning, Kohli blasted 12 fours and a six. While Shubman Gill scored 26, no other batter was able to surpass six.
“Having been sent in we got decent runs on the board,” Rohit added.
“But we failed to exploit the conditions with the ball and our batting was poor in the second innings.”
