No Place for Yuzvendra Chahal in World Cup 2023- He Set to Join County Cricket

No Place for Yuzvendra Chahal in ICC World Cup 2023- He Set to Join County Cricket: Cricketers have primarily used county cricket to bring back their international careers. Yuzvendra Chahal will be joining players like C Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane in England for his first County Cricket contract with Kent.

Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma failed to select the experienced leg player for the 15-man India World Cup squad.

As per reports from the Times of India, Yuzvendra Chahal has decided to play for Kent in County Cricket. “The Kent County Cricket Club will make an official announcement regarding this development soon. Chahal will play three four-day games for them. The BCCI has granted NOC to him to play County cricket. Should he be a requirement for the India team, Chahal will join the national squad immediately,” a source in the BCCI informed The Times of India.

Chahal returned to white-ball cricket for the Men in Blue in 2023 after spending over a year in exile.
He played in both ODIs and T20Is.

Chahal lost his chance to win over the BCCI Selection Committee since he is no longer the favorite option for the India Playing XI.

Chahal was selected for his most recent tour to the West Indies, but despite getting hammered all over the park by the Caribbean batsmen, he was unable to generate strong results with the ball.

“Naturally, it is very disappointing to miss out any selection for India. As a cricketer we must accept that some things don’t always go our way. I must continue to try my best and hopefully my performances will justify selection again for India,” Yuzvendra Chahal told The Times of India.

But now there is no looking back at the past. Chahal is ready for the next challenge that lies ahead of him and is ready to light up County Cricket. “Rahul Dravid Sir speaks so highly of his time in County cricket. I really wanted to play (in County cricket). I cannot explain how grateful I am of my good friend Brindon who helped me in such short notice,” Chahal concluded.

India Champions responded by deliberately beginning their run chase. Even though Ambati Rayudu lost Robin Uthappa (10) early in the innings, his brilliant fifty off thirty balls laid the groundwork for the Men in Blue’s chase.

In the same over, Suresh Raina also left cheaply for four, aiding Pakistan’s recovery. However, Rayudu and Gurkeerat Singh Maan’s (34 off 33) solid combination kept India in the game.

Rayudu and Mann also departed in a space of 10 runs but the momentum stayed firmly in India’s favour with Yusuf Pathan’s blistering 30 off 16 balls before the latter was dismissed in the penultimate over.

Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Adam Gilchrist (wk), Andre Flintoff, Shane Warne, Mutttiah Muralitharan, Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram. Yuvraj Singh (12th man)
