CSK in Trouble as Case Filed Against MS Dhoni’s Side After IPL Ticketes Sale Irregularities: Chennai Super Kings could face huge trouble as a local-basedd advocate has filedd a case against MS Dhoni-led team, BCCI, and Tami Nadu Cricket Association over irregularities in tickets sales on May 17.

The case has been registered before Chennai Civil Court following a huge drama surrounding black market sales for CSK’s seven home games.

CSK and its management have been facing a lot of flak from the local public and other parts of India for the unavailability of tickets on the counter and online sales.

“Today I have filed a case on The Chennai Super Kings, The BCCI, and The TNCA over Irregularities in Ticket sales leading to Black ticket market and Suspicious Online Ticket Sales in the Current ongoing IPL tournament being Held in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai (sic),” read the advocate, Ashok Chakravarthy’s Facebook post.

Apparently, fans are disheartened as lower stands tickets which usually cost around 1,500 to 2000 are reportedly being sold for 8,000 rupees. The soar in prices for the playoffs is due to MS Dhoni’s likely retirement from IPL. A temporary stoppage of ticket sales for the playoffs at Chepauk is also to be discussed during the case.

“Also Prayed before the Court for Interim Stay on Ticket sales of Playoffs and Qualifier to be held in Chennai next week. And To Provide the online ticket booking log of the previous matches held in Chennai,”

Chepauk are set to host Qualifier 1 and Eliminator matches of the IPL 2023 playoffs stages. The tickets for the same will be available on IPL’s official website from Thursday.

Earlier, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan stated that the team is entitled to provide 20% of tickets to BCCI and TNCA, also provided 13,000 tickets to TNCA division clubs out of 36000 tickets.

MS Dhoni’s Participation ‘Still Not Final’ for IPL 2025: Former Indian captain MS Dhoni, played with CSK in the IPL, is still not confirmed to take part in the 2025 edition of the world’s richest franchise cricket league.

The BCCI’s announcement under the new uncapped player rule for IPL 2024 that players such as Dhoni, who have not played international cricket for more than five years, can be classed as ‘uncapped’ and kept for a fee of Rs 4 crore, increased Dhoni’s prospects of participating in the IPL.

The former Indian captain, who has also won three ICC titles, has yet to announce his participation in the IPL 2025, despite the belief of many fans and previous greats of the game that the uncapped player rule was reinstated to ensure Dhoni’s participation.
