On December 30, 2022, Pant was involved in a potentially fatal vehicle accident that left him with severe injuries that needed two knee operations. After more than a year of intensive recuperation, Pant is back in the IPL 2024 lineup as a wicket-keeper batter.

As the first player in history to participate in 100 IPL matches for the Capitals, Rishabh Pant has created history in the DC-RR game.
