Video Of Imad Wasim During PSL Final Triggers Severe Backlash

Video Of Imad Wasim During PSL Final Triggers Severe Backlash: Imad Wasim, an all-rounder for Islamabad United, shut down Multan Sultans at 159/9 on Sunday in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 final with a 5-wicket haul.

With some significant wickets against David Willey, Yasir Khan, and other players, Wasim turned in one of his best T20 league outings.

However, Wasim sparked a major scandal shortly after his on-field wizardry when he was discovered smoking in the team’s dressing room during the game.

Imad was caught on camera smoking a cigarette in the Multan Sultans dressing room. The moment went viral on social media, and the player faced a lot of criticism.

Islamabad United’s victory in the final was made possible by Wasim’s incredible 5/23 in 4 overs. Even after limiting the Multan Sultans to 159, Wasim’s team had some difficulty achieving the goal.

The winning runs of the game were finally scored on the last ball of play.

“Didn’t know that it would go on to be the best ever tournament. Just wanted to have an impact in the team’s win. It was a new experience – taking five wickets in the final. Took lesson that we should’ve finished it one over earlier. I’m happy playing cricket. Trying my utmost to contribute for the team. 4-5 years of cricket left in me,” Imad Wasim said after the final as he was named the player of the match.

Felt that the more time I had, could utilise it better with bat. At number 6-7, I don’t have the power game. Have tried to fix my technical issues as a bowler. That’s a long process, and the improvements will come. Watching the match is tough for me. In the middle I don’t feel pressure, but watching it from outside is tough. I make life difficult for people next to me as well, so I don’t sit with batters who are supposed to walk in next. Special mention to the owners who have backed me. I was captain for five years and we didn’t reach final, but they backed me. Lot of things I feel that make this trophy very important for us,” he said.

IPL 2025: MS Dhoni 'Not Confirmed' For IPL 2025 Yet?

MS Dhoni ‘Not Confirmed’ For IPL 2025 Yet: There are much news surrounding MS Dhoni’s future with CSK in the forthcoming IPL 2025.

Dhoni’s prospects of being retained increased significantly when the new IPL retention criteria declared him a “uncapped player,” but neither the team nor the seasoned cricket player have made any formal confirmations.

Dhoni’s communication about his retention was just disclosed by Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan. He emphasized that although Dhoni has not confirmed anything, CSK is desperate to keep him, and he would inform them before October 31, which is the deadline for IPL retentions.

“We also want Dhoni to play in the CSK team. But Dhoni has not confirmed it to us yet. Dhoni said, ‘I will tell you before October 31.’ We hope that he will play,” Kasi Viswanathan was quoted by Sports Vikatan according to India Today.

The former regulation that permitted franchises to register players who had retired from international cricket or who had not played for a lengthy period as “uncapped” was reinstated by the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council.

All ten IPL teams were given the opportunity to reconsider their retention plans thanks to the law, but many feel that the modifications were made specifically for the great MS Dhoni, who the Chennai Super Kings can now keep for just INR 4 crore as an uncapped player.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif feels certain that the IPL rules were altered only to allow Dhoni to play on, despite CSK’s claim that they had not spoken with him about the issue.

“You will get the chance to see MS Dhoni again. He is fit, batting at a strike rate of 200, keeping well, and that is why I believe the rules will keep changing till he wants to play. If he wants to play in the IPL, he will play. He is such a big player, such a big match-winner, and has been a leader for CSK,” said Kaif during a chat on Star Sports.

Australian Media Trolls India After 46 Runs Collapse Against New Zealand: Cricket Australia poked fun at Rohit Sharma and company following Team India’s 46-run defeat to New Zealand in the opening Test match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

On day two, bowlers Matt Henry and William O’Rourke of the Pacers wrecked havoc on India’s batting lineup by sharing nine wickets and bowling them out for just 46.

In an innings that featured five ducks, Rishabh Pant scored the most for the home team with 20 off 49. India now has the third-lowest Test score overall and the lowest total at home.

The lowest score India have ever scored at home against the West Indies was 75 in New Delhi in 1987. In a 2020 pink-ball Adelaide Test match against Australia, their lowest score to yet was 36.

Cricket Australia posted a clip of India’s 36-all victory in the 2020–21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series on social media, mocking the team for their terrible batting collapse and asking, “Is ‘All Out 46’ the new ‘All Out 36’?”

Former England captain Michael Vaughan also trolled India and shared, “Look on the bright side Indian fans .. at least you have got past 36 ..”

Henry took five wickets in fifteen balls in an overcast day, showing remarkable control over length and line. He also achieved the milestone of 100 Test wickets.

While experienced bowler Tim Southee claimed a wicket, O’Rourke, playing in his debut Test in India, made a great impact with his tricky bounce and variety of lengths, claiming 4-22.

India lost without contributing much because they failed to demonstrate the necessary batting effort to slog it out against swing or seam in an environment that was strongly in favour of an accurate New Zealand bowling line-up and excellently supported by their fielders.

In an unfortunate Indian batting display riddled with five ducks, only Rishabh Pant (20) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) managed to reach double digits.
