Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep each claimed two wickets. In the sixth ODI World Cup game, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, and Ashwin each claimed one wicket.

In the second inning, Australia started well after they dismissed Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer for a duck leaving India at 2/3. However, Virat Kohli (85 runs from 116 balls) and KL Rahul (97* runs from 115 balls) made a solid 165-run partnership to clinch a six-wicket win against Australia. The cricket icon last participated in an IPL 2024 virtual knockout match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium between CSK and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Team CSK lost match in eliminator in the IPL, managed to finish the fifth in the points table. In the eliminator match, he contributed 25 runs but he was out in the final over.
