Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Umashankar Singh claimed that he has received an email demanding Rs 1 crore ransom from the underworld. The mail, MLA said , has a photo of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim attached.
BSP MLA also claimed that he received threat that if he will not give money, will be killed. With email , also go message with the same demand.
MLA has been filed a complaint in this regard in the Gomti Nagar Police station , police are investigating after initiated case and FIR.
Earlier over dozen BJP MLAs had claimed of getting threat calls from the underworld demanding a ransom of Rs 10 kah.
On the directions of Minister Yogi Adityanath, had set up a special investigation team t probe the phone message that threatened death to family members of the BJP MLAs.
The extortion threats were issued in the name of the gangster who once worked with Dawood. Taking a very strong note fot he threats, Adityanath had directed the special task force and the anti-terrorist squad to act.
MLAs has copmplained that they got test on WhatsApp messages asking them to pay Rs 10 lakh otherwise families will be eliminated within three days. ADG Anand Kumar said that, there were reports that a journalist in Bhopal and some people in Delhi and Rajasthan had also got similar message.
Calls were made from the landline number registered in Texas which has WhatsApp facility, Kumar said, the Police has obtained the IP address being used for sending out message to the MLAs.
MLAs , who got the message in May were Veer Vikram Singh, Manvendra Singh, Prem Prakash Pandey, Anita Rajput, Shahshank Trivedi, VInod Katiyar, Kumar Dwivedi and VInay kumar Dwivedi.
ADG Anand Kumar said that, message being issued in the name of the gangster who had issued such threats to film personalites in the 1990.
Anand Kumar added, “He was once with Dawood Ibrahim but the two later fell out, in 1998 the shifted to Bahrain and was carrying out his operations from there. In the past 10 years, there has been no reports of his activities in India but he is on the radar of the intelligence agencies, reported by Zee News Agency.
