ITR Filing 2019: How to file ITR online, Deadline extended till 31 August

 

After facing difficulties by taxpayers and professional due to the delay in the issuance of Form 16, Indian Government has extended the due date to file an income tax return by a month.

Central Board of Direct Taxes extends the due date for filling of ITR from 31st July to 31st august 2019, CBDT statement late on Tuesday.

In this regard, The CBDT, in exercise of its powers conferred under Section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961 hereby extends the due date as prescribed under Section 139 (1) of the Act for filing of income tax returns from 31st July, 2019 to 31st august 2019. In case of taxpayers who are liable to file their income tax returns by the said due date, A Finance Ministry order said.

When self employed individuals in India need to file income Tax Returns. Aadhar still an important document, it is very essential to link your bank account, phone number, EPF account and PAN with Aadhaar.

After filed your taxes you get the ITR-V that you need to print sign and send it to the income tax office.

Here is a steps to registering yourself on the Income Tax Portal

You need to register on the income tax portal, there will be two option to register and login option. For new registering for the first time, your user ID is generally your PAN number.

Fill Name, DoB and residential status and complete the registration. Which will include PAN number and other details, followed by verification and once the registration is successfully your account will be created.

Link Aadhaar with Income Tax return, Hover the cursor on Profile setting on the right and then click on Link Aadhaar in drop down menu. You need to verify Aadhaar after which an OTP will be sent on your registered mobile.

Login to the portal and a link that says Filing of Income Tax Return. In the next page you need to select assessment year, ITR From name and Submission mode.

You will have to select IT-1 form in the next drop down then you will also need to choose between Aadhaar OTP to verify your returns.

Click , You will need to add your income details, tax deductions and other details about your investments. A computation of your returns or the tax that are liable to pay will appear on the screen.

You can pay either the tax or click on submit if you are eligible to get a return.
